#you’re oak

I took these images in December 2014 over a period of several hours in the microscopy department. Every image comes from one slide, and the majority are from one 8mm drop of oak documented as it dries out. I would like to present them through light boxes or multiple projections – I would like the audience to be able to walk through these projections, for light to fall on them as they move through a space lit by images all taken from an 8mm circle. They could also be walking through a floor of liquified oak, a walk through an oak tree, at the same time.

two images taken of the oak, one with a normal camera lens at level visible to the naked eye, the other under magnification…the patterns that form at these two radically different levels are very similar…
